this pair of forks is an excellent find, just like the good old days of when I had a Schwinn Orange Crate. But seeing as I can REMEMBER the Orange Crate I can no longer fit on one. So therefore I have to re-create it beach cruiser style, and these forks are a good jumping off point, so thank you Sun Cycle for the great re-production peice

Wheel Master Rear Bicycle Wheel with Coaster Brake, 26 x 1 3/8 36H, Steel, Bolt On, Silver

I've had this Wheel Master coaster hub wheel for about 1 year. The other day, for the first time, I accidentally dropped off a 4" curb. The result was a broken spoke. I weigh 165 lbs, and with the original 1977 Schwinn S-6 wheel, I've dropped off curbs many times without a problem.
The mechanic at my local bike shop sold me a stainless steel spoke and mentioned that Wheel Master spokes are notorious for breaking. Of course, replacing an occasional spoke isn't such a big deal, if you know what you're doing, but even then it is highly aggravating.
On the plus side, this wheel trued up okay with the new spoke. This wheel spins a bit truer than the original wheel, and is noticeably lighter. The weight difference can be felt, particularly when climbing a hill.
Update one week later: I broke another spoke!! This time, I don't even know how or when. The spokes on this wheel are not as tightly laced from the factory as those on the original Schwinn front wheel (S-6). Perhaps that's why these spokes seem to break so easily. I run a coaster break bike for low maintenance and dependability. This wheel certainly defeats those objectives.
2nd update, three weeks after previous update: Two weeks ago, I was pumping up the tire (to 65 lbs). "Tink" went yet another spoke. "Groan!" Needless to say, something was not right with this wheel. So, this time, when I replaced the spoke, I loosened all the spokes a quarter turn and re-trued the wheel. It's been running fine since then (2 weeks). But, with looser spokes all around, my confidence level is dropping.
I later asked a professional wheel builder, on line, about my wheel problem. He believes these wheels are breaking spokes because the spokes are too small diameter for the hub holes. They are in fact a bit smaller diameter than the replacement spokes I'm using (14 guage). I can tell by rolling them together on a tabletop with my index finger pressing down on them.
According to the wheel builder, the loose fit at the hub hole creates extra stress at the spoke elbow. Indeed, all three broken spokes broke at the elbow. Thinner spokes (and rims) means less tension can be applied to the spokes. That, along with extra stress at the hub, results in significantly lowered wheel strength. Knowing this, I intend to ride this wheel very gently until I can find an original Schwinn replacement.
It seems to me that by recklessly cheapening their product, Wheel Master is subjecting users to much aggravation and increased danger of wheel collapse. Would you want to trust your life to such a wheel? Thank you Amazon for making this review possible.

First of all this wheel is cheap. Sure, no kidding it's cheap -what do you expect for this price? It's destined as a set of wheels for my home-made studded ice tires so I didn't want to spend a bunch on extra wheels for my winter snowtires project. The front wheel for this project came out of the junk pile. I couldn't find a rear wheel laying around so I figured I'd give this cheap one a try for the rear.
This wheel is cheap, but not only does it use a very cheap steel rim and cheesy hub it is also very poorly built.
This one came with the spokes not seated properly and round/runout barely tolerable. The bearing cones were set so tight that the axle could BARELY be spun by hand out of the box. The cone locknuts were so darn tight that I took half the life off of my favorite cone wrench trying to get it off. It must have been torqued to over 100ft-lbs! My poor favorite 15mm bench cone wrench is no longer what it used to be after this project :(
It gets better. The ticket on the rim claims that this was the same 26x1.75 Steel C.P Rim w/ Steel 5/6 hub I ordered -but when I measured the dropout/overlocknut spacing was set at 135mm!
Um, FAIL!
I don't know about you but I'm a fairly experienced home mechanic and when I hear 5/6 speed freewheel hub I think of 126mm-spaced dropouts or maybe even 120mm. A 135mm overlocknut wheel setup on a freewheel hub is for 7/8/9 speed bikes -a rare chicken indeed. 135mm is totally WRONG. If someone else on here can tell me how a wheel marked 5/6speed should be 135mm overlocknut then maybe I need to quit working on bikes and hire a pro from now on .
I noticed that there was a big orange sticker on one of the spokes. Maybe this was a factory reject that somehow found its way into the ship pile?
I had to re-space this wheel's overlocknut measurement to 126mm and re-dish the rim to match. Not only was the overlocknut size wrong but it was also even dished wrong for a 135mm spacing as delivered and not centered. I don't know what the hack the guy who built this clod of a wheel was doing, but it just might have been his first day on the job (or maybe his last). Luckily the wheel was already halfway dished over to where it should be for 126mm and I had enough fudge in the nipples to allow me to move it the rest of the way over to center on the 126mm overlocknut measurement. This leads me to believe that the right parts were sourced right and wheelbuilder just went astray in building it.
Was this wheel worth the trouble for the price? Frak no! But once I had it in my hands it was easier to fix it than to complain and send it back.
I don't blame Niagra Cycle one bit as they are just shipping what Wheelmaster sends them. I didn't even call to complain because I didn't want to mess around sending a cheapo wheel back costing more in shipping than this cut-rate wheel is worth. It was easier just to fix it and move on. Lesson learned.
But if you don't know how to build a wheel in the first place and space the over-locknut correctly and dish it to center then you should stay away from wheelmaster wheels! I learned my lesson here. From now on I'm going to buy something made in Tiawan the correct way rather than USA-made junk built by some stoner kid on his first (or last) day at the job. Wheelmaster needs to start doing better quality control and marking their products with more information like what the overlocknut spacing is so ordinary mortals can buy it without fear of getting the wrong thing. Apparently even Wheelmaster doesn't know what the correct overlocknut size should be on their wheels...
I put more work into this "new" wheel than I did in the old used junkpile rim I had scavenged off of an old decrepit department-store bike (which BTW was a nicer wheel even used and beat up than this new Wheelmaster unit was)

M-Wave Wire Bicycle Basket With Clip-on Bracket Review

M-Wave Wire Bicycle Basket With Clip-on Bracket

The picture makes this basket look sturdy, but it isn't. The round clips that go around the handlebar are cheap plastic. As I was tightening them on the handlebar one of them began to split. That was annoying, but I figured I could make my own out of metal when the time came and the clip broke completely. The second problem occurred the first time we used it. My wife put a small dog in the basket (4-5 lbs) and we took a ride. Half way through our ride the brace that holds it against the handlebar broke, the basket fell forward, and the dog went flying. My wife had to try to steer the bike and hold the basket the remainder of the trip. Unfortunately, it's too late for me to return it, but Amazon's return policy doesn't appear to accommodate defective items anyway. I bought a Wald 3133 Q-R from a local outfit and it works great: easier to install and an order of magnitude more sturdy.

Biria bicycle Basket with Bracket Black - Front Quick Release Basket, Removable, Wire Mesh Bicycle basket Express Klick, Black

I bought this basket about six months ago to use on the bike I ride into campus. I usually put about 10 pounds of stuff into it (a 5 lb computer, bag, and maybe a book or two). I am now looking to replace the basket. The problem is that there is only one real area of attachment/connection with the bicycle -- at the top where there is a bracket connecting the basket to the bike. So if you put something weighing more than a couple of pounds in the basket, all of the weight is on that top bracket, causing the basket to tip forward (it's tipped so far forward a couple of times that it's actually *dropped* my bag with my computer in it!). If you'll notice with other baskets there is usually a point of contact with the bike not only at the top but also at the bottom of the basket...this ensures that the basket doesn't tip and can actually support the weight of the contents of the basket. That this basket lacks that second point of contact is, in my experience, a serious drawback.
I'd say that if you need a basket to carry very light things - perhaps a towel and a gym bottle, or some light produce or something, then this is a perfectly fine basket. But if you need it to carry anything at all substantial (more than about 5-7 pounds) then look elsewhere.

Sports Golf Organizer Metal Review

I agree with others who wrote reviews that the organizer is well priced. The assembled product is very stable and the two bag compartments are large enough to hold cart bags. The many little pieces in the box may seem daunting but I assembled mine in less than one hour. If you decide to purchase the organizer, print the followng tips that aren't included in the instructions to simplify the assembly process.
[1] I had a compact, foldable camping chair to sit in that was less stressful than kneeling on the concrete garage floor and helped stabilize the organizer during assembly process.
[2] Pay attention to the the number and location of bolt holes to differentiate part B from part C during assembly steps 1 and 2. Ditto for parts D and E.
[3] Notice that part K is a larger diameter than part I. Parts J and L are different sizes to match the round tubes. The flat side goes against the ends of the tubes.
[4] Use the hex wrench that is provided to hold the part N bolt and turn the tube.
[5] The instructions do not differentiate between the two part A's but notice there are left and right pieces. The indentation for the machine screw heads must face to the outside of the assembled stand to allow the machine screws to be countersunk. Be certain to use the right sized plastic spacer (parts J and L) when following instruction step 3.
[6] The metal bottom panels (parts g and H) will snap over the bottom tube (part k) to hold the front and back sides in the proper position. You will probably have to force the assembled unit into position. Be certain to re-tighten all the machine screws.
[7] The wire center shelf panels (part F)have loop clips that fit over the smaller diameter tubes but didn't stay securely in place when I moved the assembled unit. I secured the shelves with small electrical zip ties placed through the loops and under the round support tubes.

Avenir 36H Steel 27 Inch x 1-1/4 Inch Front Wheel, Silver Review

Avenir 36H Steel 27 Inch x 1-1/4 Inch Front Wheel, Silver

(I have purchased both the front and rear wheel of this set, and the reviews are identical) These are some heavy wheels, right around 3lbs, but they are sturdy and should withstand some potholes. The hubs are initially tight but smooth out after a week of riding. My largest complaint is about the rims. First, they are not beaded, so make sure your tires are not too loose (in diameter). Second, where the rims are welded into a circle, the outside of the wall has a very noticeable dip. This becomes apparent when you apply your brakes: thump, thump, thump. Third, there are about 20 small holes on the inside of the rim, about the diameter of a spoke hole. These holes have sharp edges and are begging to pierce your inner-tube. They sit too high on the walls for a standard rim strip to cover. If you want to cover them, you'd have to buy a lot of rim tape and do up the whole inside of the rim.
Concerning the 2nd point, I actually returned the front wheel thinking it was a lemon, but the replacement wheel was almost identical in the dip at weld location. The same is true of the rear wheel.

No instructions in bag, but that was not a significant problem due to its simplicity. The tire would not hold air out of the box, so i had to fix the valve stem. As soon as i tightened the seat down enough that the seat would not slip down when sit upon, the bolt stripped out. Could have been a major problem had i not had access to a metal saw. Afterwards i had to buy a replacement bolt at the hardware store. One pedal crank continually comes loose and i have yet to find a solution. I would not recommend this product.

Provide good info on the spot (I also have cadence speed and GPS) and fabulous info via software on computer. Unit is easy to use (sometimes inadvertent starting of recording occurs - when red button accidently hit). Just replaced battery 11 months after purchase. Replace transmitter batteries every few weeks (am recording HR every second). Transmitter strap is comfortable - you can use electrode pads if you wish - with press stud fitting. The computer software free with unit (also inc infra red usb dongle) is a breeze to use and provides a very useful picture of past efforts. A tad expensive as compared with other units hence 4 stars rather than 5... however it is an extremely useful tool regardless of the cost.

Pacific Chromium Men's Dual Suspension Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) Review

Pacific Chromium Men's Dual Suspension Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Like one of the previous reviewers, I, too, had issues with the handlebars; except even the handlebars were installed backwards. I'm a mechanically-inclined individual, but am still pretty new at putting bikes together. This lead to me having issues with the cheap screws (that are prone to stripping) on the derailleurs.
On the plus-side, the manual is relatively comprehensive, although is jam-packed of information for EVERY bike that Pacific makes.
As far as the ride goes, I don't completely have the brakes or shifters adjusted, so I won't speak to their quality (although they weren't completely terrible), but the bike seat is a bit hard. The bike is also almost too big for me (I'm 5'3"), so short people should probably look elsewhere. You'll want to adjust the rear shock's spring depending on your weight, as the stock setting had no give at all for me.
The packaging from the manufacturer was lacking. I'm lucky that my FedEx driver isn't very abusive to packages, but people that are less fortunate could definitely have problems. The bike arrives with the front end disassembled (which is standard), and is secured to itself with zip ties and absolutely zero foam/paper/etc to hold it in place. There is cardboard wrapped around certain areas of the bike to dull hard points, but this obviously won't save it from any kind of drop.

This is a great basket. It it very sturdy, and both large and durable enough to carry heavy loads. It has an exceptional level of finish and craftsmanship. The finish is very bright and clean. Wald, the manufacturer, has a long history of making bicycle products and I am pleased to own this one. I own other baskets made by them, some getting quite old, and they are all reliable. Perhaps the nicest thing about this basket is its size. It is not as tall as many common "grocery" type baskets. When installed you will see the headbadge area still looks graceful and neat. Sunlite Bicycle Welded Spring Rear Rack, (Black) Review

Sunlite Bicycle Welded Spring Rear Rack, (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a great rear rack.
Once it is on the bike it is on there very good...no rattling around, etc.
Very easy to strap almost anything on to it. I purchased one of their bags at the same time so it is a very nice fit.
I agree with the other reviewers that the instructions (if you can call them that) that come with the product are just worthless.
The only reason I did not give it Five Stars is because of this. And their website also does not have anything else to fall back on.
Rather than frustrate yourself with the supplied directions make sure you have your bike right in front of you along with the online picture of the rack itself itself...it is really easier to figure it out on your own.
So let me try to explain best I can...
FIRST --Attaching this to your bike is dependent upon the frame having pre-threaded holes on it for the bolts that come with the rack. This must be some kind of industry standard. But I did not understand this part going into it which is why I was frustrated
So look at your frame and make sure you have the pre-tapped holes both at the top part of the rear frame where it starts coming down to the rear tire and down where the rear tire itself fits in. My bike had "place holder" bolts already in these holes to stop debris from getting inside so I removed them and used the longer screws that came with the rack.
See the silver/chrome parts of the rack in the picture...
First you will have to attach the angled parts to the top of the rack with the little U-shaped bracket pieces. But don't tighten it down yet. They should remain loose and flexible at this point.
Magnify the online photo to see this more clearly.
The bottom silver parts adjust up/down depending on the type of tire you have...
Notice at the end of each of these four silver pieces are holes where the bolt will go through.
These holes line up with the pre-theaded holes on your bike frame.
So slip the bolt and washer through and tighten them down to the bike frame first but still just a tiny bit loose.
Then push the rack around a bit to make sure it is level and straight. This is the reason why we did not fully tighten the top silver parts to the rack itself earlier so that we would have this flexibility.
Once you are satisfied everything is level...crank ALL down bolts very tight.
At this point go ahead and grab the rack and pick up your whole bike that way....you will see how solidly it is on there.
Enjoy!
