JTUSA Elite Thermal Paintball Mask Lens Review

JTUSA Elite Thermal Paintball Mask Lens
Average Reviews:

As another reviewer said, these lenses are made for the JT Elite line of masks, so make sure that's what you've got before you order it.
A thermal lens is a must for hot or humid days, people with glasses or games played on days with rapid temperature changes. The color you choose should be based on where you intend to play. In the woods amber and yellow tend to bump up the contrast, allowing you to spot players in the brush easier. Conversely, the chrome and smoke lenses act like sunglasses. Clear is, well, what you're seeing anyway. I personally prefer the amber.
These lenses do take some work to swap out, but resist the temptation to use tools to help, because they will scratch the lens. Also, the inner lens is easily scratchable, so don't clean it with a paper towel or anything that rough.
All in all, a very good investment for your JT mask. Order two so you have a spare next time you're "gogged."

Keep your opponents clearly in view even in less than ideal weather conditions with this replacement lens for JTUSA Elite mask systems with thermal protection. It offers high-performance fog-resistant protection, and is recommended for extreme weather conditions where heavy fogging can be a factor. It's available in clear (good for dusk and night matches), yellow and amber tints (good for low-light conditions to increase contrast for enhanced visibility), and a smoke tint (the best choice for bright sunlit days, especially in open areas). It also comes in chrome, perfect for psyching out your opponents.
If you find even the smallest crack on your paintball mask lens, you should replace it immediately. For safety sake, you should replace the lens at least once a year, even if it seems fine.

Smith Phenom Turbo Fan Goggle Review

Smith Phenom Turbo Fan Goggle

I tried these goggles out for a total of several minutes during a week backcountry Canada ski trip and they failed miserably: (1) they fogged horribly despite the expensive fan. Despite poor fog clearing from the inner lens, the design also allows fog to collect between the inner and outer lenses. (2) the tint renders light completely flat, with snow features unrecognizable. My ski buddy's rose-colored sunglasses worked terrificly. I ended up skiing bare eyes or sunglasses. Thanks for Amazon returns, but a test drive before you buy is worthwhile!

Part of Smith's most advanced Turbofan collection, the Phenom Turbo Fan goggle features a medium fit with an expanded interior volume to increase fan airflow. It has a two-speed micro-electronic fan that clears vapor from the spherical, Carbonic-X lens (with TLT optics) area faster than any static airflow goggle design. Last year Smith tweaked the fan functionality for better performance--and now it's so good that they gave the Phenom Turbo Fan a lifetime manufacturer's warranty. The patented fan design has a silent micro-electronic fan that runs continuously. There's also a high-speed airflow setting that works great during those long hauls up backcountry ridgelines. Depending on the setting you choose, the fan batteries can be good for up to 50 hours, but keep in mind that extreme cold temperatures can drain batteries faster than most typical sessions on sunny spring afternoons. The Phenom's Carbonic-X lens have a curved spherical design that helps increase the interior volume and reduce the probability of condensation. An exclusive Fog-X treatment also contributes to the anti-fogging performance. Spherical lenses look cool, but some cheap goggles have a bulging lens that distorts the view and makes your eyes feel tired after a couple of runs. Smith's TLT (Tapered Lens Technology) eliminates the refractions and keeps all objects in your line in normal dimensions. This is done by progressively tapering the lens from the optical center toward your peripheral view, matching the curvature of your natural eye shape. Another nice touch on the Phenom is Smith's articulating outrigger positioning system. It's an extra hinge that extends from the corner of the frame to help the strap stretch around the contours of your ski or snowboarding helmet. This extension creates an even pressure across your brow and nose instead of that annoying stretch sensation you might feel from goggles that are not compatible with helmets. The big benefit from the articulating outrigger is the

Native Eyewear Mission Goggles Review

Native Eyewear Mission Goggles

Good fit with helmet on a relatively small face. Lenses are good. Very clear and do not fog at all. A bit more difficult to interchange the two lenses than I had expected (this is why they are somewhat downrated) but I have not broken them yet. Have had this set of goggles for almost a year. The low light lens which comes in the set is most useful. But, in very bright sunlight I have another darker goggle which I use. Price is good for essentially two pairs of goggles.

A good pair of goggles makes skiing and snowboarding much more enjoyable, and the Native Eyewear Mission goggles are a great case in point. The Mission's most prominent feature is its optical quality, impact-resistant polarized lens, which eliminates the glare from snow, ice, water, sand, and pavement. As a result, wearers will enjoy a sharp, clear view of the trails ahead, with increased contrast and depth perception making it easy to identify upcoming dips and peaks. The lens also eliminates fogging, with a one-piece bonded construction that acts as a tight barrier to moisture. And as a safety and aesthetic measure, the lens comes in a spherical shape that maximizes your field of vision without compromising your style.
The lens is hardly the Mission's only advantage, however. A technological first for the industry, the Mission includes a patent-pending Loc Jaw interchangeable lens system, which features two articulating jaws that fuse seamlessly into a classic-looking chassis. Native's Loc Jaw technology allows you to quickly and efficiently take advantage of all of Native's lens options, so you can easily adjust to all light conditions. The goggle's Flex-It air frames, meanwhile, are made of a proprietary urethane compound that's flexible and lightweight, making it durable enough to withstand temperature extremes. Comfort isn't a concern thanks to the compression-molded, triple-layer face foam, which contours perfectly to your face. Plus, the goggle includes an outer layer of fleece that wicks away moisture to keep you warm and dry.
Finally, the goggles are easy to put on, take off, and wear. The Mission not only fits perfectly with all brands of helmets, but its clip includes unique dual adjusters that help you maintain and secure a comfortable fit. The Mission goggles--which weigh 0.7 ounces--come with a soft case and a bonus SportFlex lens that's suitable for cloudy, overcast, and other low-light conditions. All Native products carry a limited lifetime warranty.

I have a flatter face than most and these fit perfectly. I've tried on many goggles and many leave gaps around my nose. These are very comfortable. Comes with two different lens and go perfect with my helmet. Would definitely buy again.
