I purchased the Weems & Plath Endurance Collection 085 Barometer, Comfort Meter, and Clock in April as a gift for my mother. Today, after she told me that the clock was no longer working, I found out that each of these is made in China. $300 for Made in China items that you can see cost less that $1 at source (e.g. check out a site called alibaba, which lists the Chinese manurefacturers of these components)?
