I build and operate 7.5 inch gauge railroad trains as a hobby. Sometimes it's not how fast they can go, but how fast they can stop. It's hard to stop a train even when it is only 1/8th scale. So it needs a brake system. This brake system is powered by air from a small half gallon air tank. The tank needs to be at 55 to 65psi in order for the brakes to effectivly work. After trying a cheap 12 volt air compressor from HF, and had it fail several times, I decided to go with one that had the specs to handle the job. And that it does! Very smooth, not too noisy and very quick. It has been working very well for over a month now with no signs of quiting. I will show and tell all my buddies in the hobby about the Viair 100C. A perfict match for the job intended and well worth the price tag for what it does. Yes, it can stop a speeding 1/8th scale train with all its passengers..................regards; David Szromba -- member of "The Illinois live Steamers Club" southwest suburbs of Chicago
