In a retail box you 8 packs with 10 cards per pack including 2 chrome cards. The 2010 set includes a base set of 190 cards, 30 rookies including Mike Leake (Reds) and Braves phenom Jason Heyward.
The real interest in the set is the prospects cards and Team USA cards. In the prospects card, you get the coveted Stephen Strasburg "rookie" card along with other up and coming stars like Donovan Tate (Padres), Dustin Ackley (Mariners), Aroldis Chapman (Reds-left handed power pitcher...102 MPH fastball!!!), and Starlin Castro.
On top of that is the Team USA cards which include Sports Illustrated and #1 pick Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals. If you have no idea who Harper who, do a search on him. You also get the #2 overall pick of this year's draft, James Tailon.
Inserts include:
Bowman Original- a waste of space if you ask me
Top 100- Best insert set of the last several years. Here you get the Top 100 prospects of MLB, including Heyward, Strasburg, Starlin Castro, Chapman, Tate, Ackley, Mike Stanton (Marlins), Carlos Santana (Indians), and Jesus Montero (Yankees) to name a few.
Expectations- another GREAT insert set. Here you get front and back cards of a top prospect and who he's being compared to in the league. For example, Chipper Jones and Jason Heyward. (both being the faces of the franchise). really neat insert
Refractors galore- way too many to name
Overall, 2010 Bowman is awesome. Topps should have stopped making cards after Bowman because everything else is a let down. This set hit the front page of the press when a Strasburgh Refractor card #'d 1/1 sold for over $16,000!!! Since the pull, hobby boxes have gone from about $80 to almost $150!!!!
You cannot lose with 2010 Bowman, no way, no how. Great overall set. Let the ripping begin!
