I have been a pipe and cigar smoker for almost 30 years and have never been disappointed with my Zippos except for the fact that many have developed legs over the years and have departed.
The pipe lighter coupled with Zippo fluid, imparts no taste or smell to the pipe tobacco. The flame is very easy to draw into a properly packed bowl. The design of the lighter is such that the pipe lighter is not a one-trick pony however. It functions just as well for cigars and cigarettes with the added bonus of being about to light pipes better than a conventional Zippo. The design also allows for use with candles and the like.
Finally, this is a very basic body Zippo. If you have a favorite Zippo case, buy this lighter, and use the insert in your favorite standard Zippo case.
