I write to tell you that when the lighting wheel fails to turn easily....it's not broken...I was used to the piezo electric spark that is common to every butane cigar lighter i ever had, and was about to return the lighter under it's lifetime warranty when it struck me.....flints!! Zippo uses flints...... changed the flint and all was well again.

(More customer reviews)I could go on and on about how well made this lighter is but I'll keep things short by saying that Zippo lighters DELIVER. They're strong, sturdy, easy to use, long lasting, neat, quality products with a great warranty. I can full-heartly reccomend any of these lighters to anyone who is considering buying one.
Now just remember that the lighter itself does not come filled with fluid, so make sure to pick some up ahead of time so you can use it when it arrives. I strongly reccomend the zippo brand fluid, but most any lighter fluid will do.
Also the yin-yang is SWEET!

(More customer reviews)As Zippo, this lighter has the standart Zippo quality. But when you look at all these "black" term, you think you will get a black Zippo. But you get a polished chrome Zippo. Wolf would look better on black. I ordered "Zippo wolf black ice", "Zippo lighter black ice" and "Zippo lighter zipper black ice" (from Cheap Humidors). All came in polished chrome. I think it is not the seller but the name "black" refers to "polished chrome". Strange. The lighter images show black, too. I wanted to buy black color. I rated 3 stars not because of the Zippo quality but because of the shown image color and mentioned name. Beware.

The "Street Chrome" lighter, as the other review comments, is covered in light scratches. I completely understand the disappointment one would have if they expected a clean finish, but a quick look at other Zippo lighters on Amazon makes things clearer: if the product description does not say it is polished or matted, then it is not. This makes for a nice starter kit with a lighter that is "street" ready out of the case.

(More customer reviews)I bought 2, this one for myself and the gold hologram as a gift. Both worked rarely with one strike until we found the "hidden" fix on Zippo's web site in their BLU video "training". One sentence sums it up: Turn the lighter up-side down, use a "tool" to press the fill valve for a couple of seconds to release any air trapped in the lighter (when you feel a chill you hit gas). I used a brass screw to avoid damage to the valve. I had to do this 3-4 times over a week before my lighter worked consistantly regardless of fill level. Flame height ranges from blow torch to dying embers-really low- depending on fluid level. I haven't used it in the cold yet. Yes, you do have to train yourself to hold the wheel down for a second before striking to release ignition gas - which makes sense and is still cheaper than batteries.
