Previously I had a Suunto ALtimax that started resetting randomly. The Altis is much sturdier and more accurate. It's also easier to use. I don't have to keep referring to the manual to figure out how to use the log book.
I use the watch mainly to keep track of total vertical feet skied in a day. I've used it for 5 days of skiing and it's great!
The watch is also smaller than other altimeter watches in the price range.
