(More customer reviews)Just thought I would share a review of this bar since there was NO info / feedback on it. I have a home gym area that is set up for Crossfit / Metcon workouts. No pretty machines (minus my commercial treadmill).. no cozy and comfortable "cardio" pieces of equipment.. Just a nice training area with 350+ pounds of rubber bumper plates, tons of kettlebells (various weights), a 100 lb heavy bag, box jumps / plyo boxes, medicine balls, pull up bar, gymnist rings, etc. I need each piece of equipment to be fully functional because it will get PLENTY of use, which brings me to my 45 lb olympic bar. My wife is 120 something pounds. She (and a few of her friends) are just now getting into the Crossfit scene. Quite simply, the 45 lb bar was too heavy for her. So, I started her out on this 15 lb ultra lite bar. It was PERFECT! I could not have asked for a better bar. She does NOT intend to stack a few hundred pounds on it. The most weight we ever intend to put on this bar would be MAYBE a 35 lb plate on each side.. She's not even close to that yet (she's at a 15 lb plate per side = 45 lbs total weight on her deadlifts). We've been using this bar for about a month now and it's exactly what we needed. Guys, if you own a standard 45 lb olympic bar and you're wife / girlfriend / daughter shows an interest in lifting some weight(s), don't "force" her to start out heavy on YOUR 45 lb olympic bar. A lot of the time, she will feel that it's too heavy or "hurts" too much. She'll lose interest and you'll lose a potential workout partner / someone who wants to look good for you or just stay in shape. If you have a "petite" or small framed wife / girlfriend / daughter, this bar is an absolutely great solution. As for Crossfit / Metcon needs, it's perfect (most of the time, it's lighter weight and tons of reps). I've ran it through its' paces on a couple of MY workout routines. One Crossfit workout called, "Fight Gone Bad", calls for (2) different exercises that use a weight bar (#1 - 75 lb PUSH PRESS and #2 - 75 lb SUMO DEADLIFT HIGH PULL). I used this bar rigorously, often at times, allowing the bar and weight to drop to my gym decking floor on a controlled drop. The bar remained solid and afterwards, I tested the bar for any "warping". It was still straight as an arrow (whew, I was keeping my fingers crossed that it didn't warp). I was pretty darn hard on this bar at a modest 75 lbs but it held up just fine! Obviously, if you are doing some serious / heavy lifting, you already know that this bar is probably NOT for you. Ladies, I would HIGHLY recommend this bar.
