(More customer reviews)I have given up on all grips for mountain bikes except ODI lock jaws. They stay on, don't rotate and they can be removed and reinstalled as needed. I have had my clamps for several years and have replaced the grips at least twice. There is a great assortment grips and they even have the right length for X0 twist shift.
The only issue I have had with them are the end caps. The old style end caps fell off when you clipped a tree. I tried leaving them out and found out the hard and expensive way that the end caps do help protect the ends of carbon bars. I have been using the ODI end caps that have a screw and a expanding plug to hold them in place. They work but they rust and finally fail.
I finally emailed ODI and found the new style clamps have a slot that fits a ridge on the end caps. I bought a new set of clamps (the purchase reviewed) and they work. I have not lost an end cap yet.
Hint: When your grips start feeling greasy when they get sweaty, wash them with dish detergent instead of the cool bike cleaner that has silicone or something else to make the bike shiny
