They are very much like the ones I use at the gym and the grip fits in my hand well without slipping. I decided to purchase these weights (a 5 lb set and an 8 lb set) because they qualified for the super saver shipping on Amazon and ended up costing the same price as cheaper weights with shipping charges. So far I am very happy with my purchase.
