A lot has already been written about the Fisher Space Pen & I hope this is not redundant. But here goes...
I love this pen for many reasons.
IT'S SMALL. Small enough to stash away in the front zippered compartment of my cellphone case. My phone goes everywhere I go, so my pen comes along for the ride ensuring that I always have a pen on me no matter what.
IT'S COOL! The Fisher Space Pen is not just a pen. It's a novelty item. It's sleek & simple in design; a real eye catcher & it's like owning a small piece of NASA history. I purchased the chrome one, which in my opinion looks the most "futuristic". The chrome finish does not smudge or leave fingerprints, so it retains its nice silver luster.
IT WRITES WELL. I have not tested this pen while writing underwater or in zero gravity, but for everyday use, it's a pretty good pen. It definitely writes upside down without fail. If you're looking for the finest writing instrument in the world, then this pen is not for you. The main thing is that it writes fine & it's totally reliable under most conditions.
I highly recommend the chrome Fisher Bullet Space Pen. It's fun, it's cool and oh yes... it writes!!

Fisher Space Pen Chrome Bullet Pen w/jump ring & Silver Mag-Light Flashlight Combo (clamshell) Review

(More customer reviews)Space Pens are fantastic for two reasons:
1) because they are extremely small, and I can carry one in my jeans pocket wherever I go
2) because of the pressurized ink, I can lie in bed all night doing crosswords with the crosswords above my head and never ever have to shake the pen to get the ink to come out (impossible to get a regular pen to work like that without multiple shakings throughout the night).
Benefits of this particular version of the chrome "bullet" is that it has a small triangular flip-up attachment at the top which can stop the pen from rolling away from you on a flat surface. I would recommend either a bullet like this (with the triangular flip) or a bullet with a clip (see my review of the red space pen w/ clip) over a plain one....the reason being that the plain bullet pens are so sleek that they have a tendency to roll away on a flat surface (i.e. a plain one would frequently fall off my nightstand whenever I would put it down).
Also, the mini-maglite that came with it is also a nice spare flashlight to have (though, I have to say that I use my Black Diamond Gizmo headlamp as my main flashlight.....I love that thing).

(More customer reviews)I purchased this "Fisher Space Pen, Space Beam with White LED Spitlight" assuming that it was a pen/flashlight combo, but it turns out that it's actually just a flashlight.
Despite the misleading product title, it seems to be a decent little flashlight. It looks sort of like a small black cigar, and it feels sturdy. Twisting the tailcap turns on the light, or the tailcap can be adjusted to a position that allows momentary use of the light by pressing in the tailcap. The beam is hard-edged and round with a pretty even field (i.e., even brightness across), and is about 2.75" in diameter at a distance of 1'. The "White" beam has a slight purple tint. It's slightly dimmer than a white Photon Freedom micro-light.

Fisher Space Pen, X-750 Space Pen, Chrome Plated (X750) Review

(More customer reviews)I have been using Fisher Bullet pens for years. That is until I tried the X-750. The knurled rubber grip make a big difference in the way the pen handles. It's more comfortable and secure in the hand. The pen's extra length is helpful but doesn't take up much more room in my pocket. If you are a fan of Fisher products you'll find that this one will be worth the price.
